On October 23, “SEA SPIRIT”,the first 175,000cbm LNG carrier built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. for China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd., successfully completed first unloading operation.
The ship was named and delivered at DSIC on September 24. It set sail the following day, arrived in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province on the 27th, and completed cold tank operations ahead of schedule on the 29th. On October 12, the vessel successfully berth at Bintulu Port, Malaysia. It efficiently completed its maiden LNG loading on the 13th and arrived at Dapeng, Guangdong on the 22nd. After nearly 12 hours of full-speed unloading operations, it successfully completed cargo discharge by the early morning of the 23rd. Throughout its maiden voyage, the vessel demonstrated stable operational performance, reliable cargo control systems, secure containment systems, and satisfactory fuel consumption.
The successful maiden voyage of SEA SPIRIT not only validated the vessel's dependable construction quality and advanced integrated performance but also served as a successful test of the professional coordination between the ship and shore management teams under China Merchants Gas Transportation. Furthermore, it exemplified the dedicated collaboration among stakeholders in China's LNG shipping industry chain, collectively enhancing the nation's autonomous and controllable LNG shipping capabilities. |
