On August 21st, DSIC Industry Co., Ltd.(DSIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC) together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) successfully undertook the shipbuilding project of 2+2 units large 175,000cbm LNG carriers for the joint venture of China Gas, Wah Kwong and CSSC Shipping. The representatives of all parties signed the contract together.
Liu Minghui, chairman of the board and president of China Gas , Zhao Shiqing, executive chairman of Wah Kwong, Zhong Jian, chairman of CSSC Shipping, Wu Aijun, deputy general manager of CSTC, Yang Zhizhong and He Xu, leaders of DSIC, and directors of relevant units attended the ceremony.
The ship is independently developed by DSIC, with total cargo hold capacity of 175,000cbm, adopting GTT's patented Mark III Flex cargo enclosure system, with four cargo holds, and the liquid cargo system is only used for the transportation of LNG cargo, and is equipped with a re-liquefaction system at the same time. The project is equipped with two WinGD LNG dual-fuel low-speed main engines, integrated with the iCER system, which can meet the most stringent IMO emission standards in both fuel oil and gas modes while reducing oil and gas consumption. Adoption of the latest optimized double transom line type, high efficiency propeller and high efficiency twisted rudder with rudder ball further improves the hydrodynamic performance and enhances the safety redundancy of the propulsion system. The vessel can dock at most of the world's large LNG shore stations, providing excellent portability and ship-to-shore compatibility. Equipped with 4 sets of dual-fuel generators, the optimized design can cover the power load demand of the ship under different working conditions.
DSIC, Wah Kwong and CSSC Shipping have cooperated with each other for many times on the projects of VLCC and 85,000dwt bulk carriers. China Gas is one of the largest inter-regional integrated energy supply and service enterprises in China, and is also one of the "Top 50 Best Listed Companies in Asia-Pacific". The signing of the shipbuilding contract has deepened the cooperation and friendship between DSIC, China Gas, Wah Kwong and CSSC Shipping, and opened up a new direction in the market for the cooperation between DSIC and the private enterprises.
The order will be built at DSIC headquarters. Up to now, the number of orders for LNG carriers held by DSIC is more than 10, which lays a solid foundation for the transformation and upgrading of DSIC to high-value-added products, and contributes to the accelerated construction of the world's first-class shipbuilding group by CSSC. |
